Winter Activities in Wagrain

Plenty to see and do in the Salzburger Land

There is plenty to see and do in the Salzburger Land apart from skiing. Far from the slopes, guests can explore the peaceful winter landscape on foot or during a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride. Other popular activities include "Eisstockschießen", a traditional Austrian sport similar to curling, and ice skating on the beautiful outdoor ice rink.

"Let yourself be enchanted by the winter wonderland in Wagrain."

Cross-country skiing

Skating or classic? No matter which of the two most common cross-country skiing techniques you prefer, the Salzburger Land region and in particular the area around Wagrain is a haven for lovers of this gentle sport.

The region boasts a network of 230km of cross-country skiing trails. Among the highlights is the 50km-long Tauernloipe which is rated intermediate and winds its way through the beautiful landscape.

Tip! The Wagrain-Kleinarl Loipe and the Jägerseeloipe are two cross-country skiing trails close to our hotel.

Snow adventures

The Salzburger Land is home to more than 20km of winter hiking trails just waiting to be explored.

These reach from the valley floor up into the mountains and are an excellent way to discover the region from a different perspective in winter.

Couples spending for a romantic time out for two at the Sporthotel Wagrain can enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride through the snowy landscape. Wrapped up warm under a woolen blanket, what better way to watch the world go by?
